About Cricket

ChristiAnna “Cricket” Brantley is a first generation college graduate, she earned her B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in mathematics from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington in 2017, in the fall of the same year she began her Ph.D. journey at the University of Florida working under the advisement of Dr. George Christou, completing her Ph.D in the fall of 2022. Currently she is a postdoctoral researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory working on radiopharmaceutical research. She is an avid photographer of 15 years, and really enjoys bringing the small things into focus because small changes can lead to greater impacts. She enjoys tutoring because she finds that when someone finally understands something that has been bothering them for a long time there is an underlying joy in seeing them finally "get it". Cricket strives to help her students understand the concepts so that they can continue to use to material they learn later on in their academic career, not just for them to get it for the test and move on. Her philosophy is: “To build a house you need a good foundation, without it, it just crumbles. Learning the basics sets you up for success in the future.“

Makayla Grice General Chemistry Tutoring

“Miss Cricket was an amazing Chemistry Tutor who truly made a difference in my understanding of the subject. She had a way of breaking down complex concepts into easy to understand steps, making me feel more confident in Chemistry. Thanks to her guidance, I not only gained a better grasp of the material but also earned an A in the class! My sister recommended Miss Cricket since she tutored her during her college years also. I couldn’t have achieved this success without Miss Cricket‘s patience, expertise, and encouragement.”
